Unit Three: Plays

Please watch the following video. Then download or save the document below it. This will give you information as to what was going on in the England of Shakespeare, Jonson, and Marlowe.

Assignment One
The first play we will study is Ben Jonson's Volpone, which you can see on the Calendar. As we are reading this as a class, I would like you to fill out the following document (Expectation Log) for each act. When you have finished this chart for each act, please submit it to the link below (Inbox). This should be submitted by Monday, November 20th. Finally, please make four posts on the corkboard at some time during your reading experience.

The next play we will study is Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, which you can see on the Calendar. As we are reading this as a class, I would like you to fill out the following document (Expectation Log) for each act. Finally, please make four posts on the corkboard at some time during your reading experience.

You are going to write an argumentative essay about one work you really enjoyed this year.
If you would like to get started early, you can view the posted video using the link below (Essay Video).
Please download or print out the second file (Essay Notes) and bring them to class with you on Monday, December 1st.
The third link (Essay Topics) is a consolidated list of all the readings that we have done this semester, for you to use to decide which you would like to write on.
Assignment Five
